TEA DRINKING IN MONPLAISIR. |
Honoring the 300th anniversary of Saint Petersburg, the President of Russia presided over a tea drinking ceremony attended by the heads of more than 40 countries at Peter the Great’s favorite palace, Monplaisir.
On that evening, honored guests drank tea from the set "The Classics of Petersburg,” designed by
 Galina Shuliak especially for the anniversary of the city. She applied cobalt as a background for depictions of well-known architectural monuments of classical St. Petersburg. Each image is framed in silver tape, with a geometrical ornament. The set of porcelain blended harmoniously with the interior décor of the Gala Hall, demonstrating a lively communication of times and a continuity of development of Russia’s cultural traditions.
